LWC Wrestling hosts Cumberland at Biggers tonight, Feb. 4, 2014

COLUMBIA, KY – The sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson College wrestling team hosts No. 10 Cumberland (Lebanon, TN) University tonight in Biggers Sports Center on the campus of Lindsey WIlson College.



Lindsey Wilson (8-4 in duals) is coming off a two-win performance last week where they defeated No. 5 Campbellsville (KY) 23-9 and No. 9 Cumberlands (Barbourville, KY) 30-3.

Cumberland (12-9 in duals) is coming off a 23-16 loss to Cumberlands on January 23.

For Lindsey Wilson, Joe Cozart at 157 and Jameel Bryant at 184 are both the top-ranked wrestler in their class. Wismit Moinius ranks third at 141 with Myron Bradbury sixth at 125. Isaac Thomas is eighth at 149 while Mitchell Judkins is 14th at 165. Keaton Thomas ranks 15th at 133 and Zach McCormick is 15th at 157.

For Cumberland, Jake Williams and Cody Linton are the highest-ranked wrestlers at No. 3, Williams at 149 and Linton at 184. Ezekial Hunt comes in at No. 7 of the 174 class and Scott Stewart is 10th at 197. Kirk Johnson is the final Bulldog to be ranked, coming in at No. 12 at the 165 class.

Lindsey Wilson holds a slight 4-3 advantage over Cumberland in the all-time series. These teams met earlier this season at the National Wrestling Coaches’ Association (NWCA) National Duals in January, with the Blue Raiders winning 35-12.

Before the dual begins, 2013 National Champion Jameel Bryant with be presented with his championship ring.

Bryant won the national title at the 184 class last season and will have his named added to the banner of individual national champions. - Charles Balcom
