Barry G. Whitlock, 64, Green County, KY (1949-2014)

He was a member of a large, respected Green County Kentucky family. He was the son of Ray Whitlock and Margie paxton Whitlock, who survive. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a former Salesman, former member of the "Saviors Choice Band" and also "The Dawn Breakers", and loved playing the trumpet

Mr. Barry G. Whitlock of Mississippi, formerly of Green County, KY departed this life on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Whitfield, Mississippi.

The funeral services for Mr. Barry G. Whitlock will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Dr. Gary Ervin will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4 until 8 P.M., Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Saturday until time of the funeral service.

Mr. Barry G. Whitlock of Mississippi, formerly of Green County, son of Ray Whitlock and Margie Paxton Whitlock of Greensburg, Kentucky, was born on Monday, November 28, 1949 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Whitfield, Rankin County, Mississippi. He was 64 years, and 2 months of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a former Salesman, former member of the "Saviors Choice Band" and also "The Dawn Breakers", and loved playing the trumpet.

Besides his parents, Mr. Whitlock is survived by

  • His children: Carmen and Bryan Estes, Amanda and Matt Mills, and Chris Whitlock all of Greensburg, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Brooke Estes, Toby Estes, Joshua Estes, Kimberlie Thompson, Ella Mills, Kylee Whitlock, McKinley Whitlock, and Aubrey Whitlock all of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister and brother-in-law: Regina and Dennis Curry of Greensburg, KY

  • Mother of his children: Laverne Bagby Marple of Taylor County

  • Niece: Whitney Curry of Greensburg, KY

  • Two nephews: Derek Curry of Tennessee and Sean Curry of Greensburg, KY

  • A great-nephew and a great-niece: Daven Curry and Lily Curry both of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
