Election 2014: Six candidates file before deadline, 1 withdraws At the deadline for filing for county-wide offices past, 59 candidates had entered the race; counting the withdrawal of Wm M. Feese, Jr, - the total is 58. Filing continues for Independents, Candidates for City of Columbia offices, for School Board, and for Soil Conservation District Board members Click on headline for complete story, complete list of candidates to date By Ed Waggener With the deadline passed at 4pmCT, a total of six candidates have filed on the final day. Including a surprise filing, with Jeff Feese, momentarily, being filed as a candidate for the office for which his dad, Wm. Matt Feese, Jr. was a candidate. The puzzling situation was resolved moments later when his father walked submitting a request to withdraw from the race. Jeff Feese, running for the first time, will be elected home-free, with no other candidate on the 2014 primary ballot and no Republican filing for the office. Filing after 2pmCT this afternoon were:
