Columbia firm ATS wins approval to supply taxis to NYC

Ken Wilkerson and ATS engineer Jordan Knifley just left New York City today, Monday, January 26, 2014, after meeting with the New York City Taxi commission.



The duo took a ATS built wheelchair van for inspection and approval for the New York City Boro green taxi wheelchair van program.

"ATS is proud to announce that we are one of three companies in the country that have been approved to manufacture wheelchair vans for New York City taxi fleets," Ken Wilkerson said.

The first ATS built New York City Boro green taxi built here in Columbia KY is being readied for shipment at the company's Green River Commerce Park facility now, and is shown in the accompanying photograph.
