Columbia Is My Home, by the Poet, Wm. M. Feese, Jr.

Columbia Is My Home
Inspired by photo by Letisha Paris: Snow, January 25, 2014
As I looked at the picture in Columbia Magazine
of a snowy downtown day
I wondered what strangers would think
as they pass along this way

Would they thnk much like some of us do,
that we have a beautiful place?
Or would they say like others do,
that we need to change its face?

Shoud we change its face or let it be?
This topic has seen much discussion.
With time comes change and often results
in major repercussion.

Some of our majestic old buildings
Have undergone renovation
while others stand in obvious need
of major restoration.

But no matter what lies ahead,
and no matter where I roam
I'll always say without regret
Columbia is my home.
Inspired poetry by Mr. Wm. M. Feese, JR, written January 27, 2014
