Open minds? To date, no new method beyond pushing the snow

Comments re article 64825 Jarrett Miller says community should open its mind

By Shamarie Claiborne
Personal Commentary

I for one have lived numerous other places. I was born and for the most part raised in Columbia and then went out to see the big world. Enjoyed my adventures in Fredericksburg VA, Washington D.C., Atlanta GA, and Nashville TN. In the end I returned to the life I prefer here in rural Kentucky.

As for cleaning the roads. It is simple math. x number of workers times y number of miles of roads = z number of hours to get the job done. I will say I am thrilled it is 10:47 am on the day it actually snowed and the snow plow just went through The Holler . . . Awesome progress! I am confident they will get everywhere, they always do. But it will take time.

As for opening peoples minds -- I have found that sugar catches more flies than vinegar. Yet, I agree people as a whole are limited in their views, not only here but everywhere. And in an idealistic world we should always be open to new methods and ideas. But to date I have not heard of any other method of snow removal other than pushing the plow......... --Shamarie Claiborne

P.S. Be really glad you don't live in Atlanta GA and it come a snow. It is like the apocalypse has begun. . . --SC
