Wilma Faye Stephens, 85, of Shelbyville, Indiana, died Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Hospice Center in Columbus, Indiana.

Funeral service for Wilma Faye Stephens will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY with Rev. Mark Joplin and Rev. Gerald Hancock officiating. Friends may call after 11amCT, Wednesday. Burial will be in the Bernard Cemetery. Special music will be by Donna Willis.

She was born Sunday, April 8, 1928 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Larkin & Cora George Popplewell. She died Friday, January 17, 2014, in Columbus, Bartholomew County, IN, at the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Main Street Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester George Stephens; sister, Velma Morton, four brothers, Curt Popplewell, Donald Popplewell, Herbert Popplewell, and Londo Popplewell.

Survivors include the following:
  • Five children: Sue (Steve) Tucker, Shelbyville, IN; Penny Michelle Steele, Tuscon, Arizona; Angela Kay Thomas, Shelbyville, Indiana; Jimmy E. (Lori) Stephens, Shelbyville, Indiana; Randy C. (Kathy) Stephens, Shelbyville, Indiana

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Eleven great grandchildren

  • Sister: Marie Badgely, Russell Springs, KY

  • Brother: Glendo Popplewell, Jamestown, KY
