Adair Co. wins 3rd straight, defeats LaRue 51-38 ACHS scoring: Ty Bennett 15, Matt Fudge 11, Melton 10. Hutchison 6, Marshall Shelley 4, Jake Hixson 3, and Jacob Pooler 2 Next: The Indians host Metcalfe County Friday night, January 17, 2014, at Adair County High School, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY. Friday night is homecoming with the boys game starting at 5:30pmCT and the Girls game getting underway around 7:30pmCT. Homecoming activities will take place between games. Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com The Adair County Indians recorded their third straight win and their 5th win in their last six contest with a 51-38 victory over the LaRue County Hawks last night in Hodgenville. The Indians improved to 10-6 while Larue dropped to 8-7. Chance Melton scored all 6 of the Indians first period points as the score was knotted 6-6 after one period. Ty Bennett got the hot hand in the second period connecting on three treys and tossing in 11 points as the Indians moved ahead 20-16 at halftime. The Tribe used a more balanced attack in the third period. Zach Hutchison connected on a trey at the buzzer to make the score 37-28 after three periods. The Indians used clutch free throw shooting in the final period connecting on 12 of 15 charity tosses to pull ahead by as much as 17 points before settling for the 13 point victory. The Indians finished with three players in double figures. Bennett tossed in 15, Matt Fudge 11, And Melton 10. Rounding out the scoring were Hutchison 6, Marshall Shelley 4, Jake Hixson 3, and Jacob Pooler 2. The Indians were led in rebounding by Shelley with 8 rebounds while Melton and Bennett came away with 7 and 6 respectfully. Fudge handed out 6 assists.
