Adair boys defeat Allen County/Scottsville 55-50

The Adair County Indians came away with a 55-50 victory last night at Allen County/Scottsville. The Indians improved to 8-6 while the Patriots fell to 6-10. The Indians led 12-11 after one period on a Matt Fudge trey at the buzzer. The game was tied at halftime 28-28 as Fudge banked in a shot from half court at the buzzer.

The Patriots went on a 9-0 run the first five minutes of the third period to take a 37-28 advantage before sophomore forward Jacob Pooler sank two free throws and freshman forward Chance Melton reeled off five straight points to help the Indians pull even at 37-37.

In the final period Melton and Fudge both scored nine points each as the Indians outscored the Patriots 18-13. Melton connected on 5 of 6 free throws while Fudge was perfect on nine attempts. Melton and Fudge led the Indians with 20 and 19 points respectively. Rounding out the scoring were Zach Hutchison 5, Marshall Shelley 4, Pooler 4, and Ty Bennett 3. Ty Bennett led Adair County with 8 rebounds. Melton came away with 5 rebounds while Pooler and Hixson had 6 each.
