Pauline Blythe, Cumberland Co., KY (1924-2014)

She was a native of Cumberland County, KY and a resident in Cumberland County at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late George H. and Tessie Sherrell Short. Her husband of more and 69 years, Bruce Blythe, survives. She leaves one direct living descendant. She was a member of Marrowbone United Methodist Church and a teacher's aide in the Cumberland County school system

Mrs. Pauline Short Blythe, age 89, of Marrowbone, Kentucky passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky.

Funeral services for Pauline Short Blythe will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, Y. Burial will be in the Murley Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 3pmCT, on Saturday, January 11, 2014 until the funeral hour on Sunday.

She was born in the Littrell Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Monday, June 16, 1924, the daughter of George H. and Tessie Sherrell Short.She died Monday, January 6, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 20 days.

She was a member of Marrowbone United Methodist Church and a teacher's aide in the Cumberland County school system.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Sammy Short, Hubert Short and Ray Short.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Blythe, of Marrowbone, Kentucky, whom she married on Tuesday, August 15, 1944, and the following:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law: Janie Paull and Ronnie Carter of Marrowbone, Kentucky

  • Her sisters, McIva "Dixie" Spear of Beech Grove, Indiana and Ruby Skipworth of Beech Grove, Indiana
