Trannie Sullivan, 66, Adair County, KY (1947-2014)

She was a native of the Garlin Community of Adair County, KY, and of the Freedom Church Community of Adair County, KY, at the time fo her death. She was the daughter of the late James Oliver and Mary Elizabeth Coffey Powell. Her husband, Larry Sullivan, survives. She leaves 20 direct living descendants. She was a member of the East 80 Church of God and a homemaker.

Trannie Sullivan, age 66 years of the Freedom Community of Adair County, KY. passed away Sunday January 5, 2014 at 9:25amCT, at her home after several months illness.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 10amCT/11amET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Scott Proctor the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery. The offfiiating clergy will be Bro. Scott Proctor. The family requests visiting after 3:30pmCT/4:30pmET, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was born September 1, 1947 in Garlin, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late James Oliver and Mary Elizabeth Coffey Powell. She died Sunday January 5, 2014, in the Freedom Community of Adair County, KY, at the age of 66 years, 4 months, and 4 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Arvin "Bud" Rooks in 1976.

She later married Larry Sullivan who survives.

She is also survived by:
  • Two daughters: Teresa Devore and husband Bobby of Columbia, KY; and Melissa Wilkerson and husband Brad of Russell Springs, KY

  • One son: Tony Rooks and wife (Christy) of Mooresville, Indiana

  • Three sisters: Sarah Green of Louisville, KY; Ophelia Coop of Louisville, KY; and Clora Pridemore of Louisville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Ashley Overstreet, Shannon Gosnell, Jessica Mills Burton, Tiffany Rooks, Tyler Rooks, Taryn Rooks, Trace Rooks, Allie Wilkerson, and Ava Wilkerson

  • Eight great grandchildren.
Trannie was a member of the East 80 Church of God and a homemaker.
