City of Columbia opens basement to any who need shelter

Mayor Mark Harris said that the basement of City Hall, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia will be open to any and all who might need shelter or heat in the coming winter storm. City Hall has natural gas heat, and should not be affected by power outages.

Mayor Harris said there will be an employee on call for any gas emergencies. The numer is 270-384-2006; for a gas leak or gas smell, one can also call 9-1-1.

He will be in conference with City Clerk Rhonda Loy to decide about office hours and will make that announcement at a later time.
