Austill Pharr Gymnasium, 5735 College Parkway, Mobile, AL By Pierce Yarberry News from Lindsey Wilson College MOBILE, AL - Jamie Cummings recorded an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double, but Lindsey Wilson fell 67-64 in a close road game at Spring Hill (AL). The Badgers (4-8) would open the game on a Corinne Missi free throw, but Lindsey Wilson responded with the next 13 points, including a pair of Candace Foster three-pointers. The Blue Raiders extended their lead to 12, but Natalie Harper made four three-pointers and Armanee' Broussard added a three of her own to allow the Badgers to tie the game at 29-29 with 2:27 remaining in the half. Lindsey Wilson would retake the lead, however, going on a 7-4 to run to take a 36-33 lead at the break. Tara Arnold led the Blue Raiders (11-2, 1-1 MSC) in scoring with 13 points on the night, while Keosha Wisener finished with a career-high 11 points, adding five assists. Cummings' double-double was her fourth of the season. Both teams exchanged the lead multiple times during the second half. Sha Sha Buchanan made a field goal and Broussard knocked down her second three-pointer to give Spring Hill a 38-36 lead, its first since the opening three and a half minutes, but Tara Arnold tied the game at 40-40 on a made free throw. Neither team was able to break away, with Lindsey Wilson having the largest lead of the half with four points. The score would be deadlocked at 64-64 with 21 seconds remaining before the Blue Raiders would foul Harper as she was attempting a three-pointer. Harper made all three shots to leave the Blue Raiders four seconds on the clock, but a last-second Kayla Richardson shot wouldn't find its mark. Harper shot 5-of-11 from beyond the arc and went 5-for-5 from the charity stripe to lead the Badgers with 22 points. Buchanan added a 19-point, 11 rebound double-double, making 7-of-8 free throw shots. The Blue Raiders outshot the Badgers percent from the field 42.4 to 33.3, but Spring Hill was able to score 19 points off of 16 Lindsey Wilson turnovers. - Pierce Yarberry Attendance: 71 Next:Lindsey Wilson vs. Mobile (AL) Saturday, December 21, 2013, 1pmCT/2pmET game at the H.
