LWC Men's Basketball Coach Peck Earns his 500th career victory

Career landmark comes with 108-52 win over West Virginia Tech at Biggers

COLUMBIA, KY - Head coach Paul Peck earned his 500th career win as the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated West Virginia Tech 108-52 at Biggers Sports Center on Friday night, December 20, 2013.



Lindsey Wilson (8-5) finished the game with four players in double-digits led by Anthony Crenshaw with a career-high 24 points. D'on Hall finished the game with 18 points while Tony Horne added 12 points and six rebounds. Keshaun Mayfield had a team-high 11 rebounds and six assists. Tyrie Orosco finished the game with 12 points and nine rebounds while Roderick Clark had a team-high five steals in the win.

The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 22-5 lead as Hall scored 12 of his 18 points in the first 6:07 of the game. Lindsey Wilson would continue to put pressure on West Virginia Tech as they expanded the lead to 35-9 after a 13-4 run with 8:49 left in the half.

Lindsey Wilson shot 47.5 percent from the field as they took a 53-21 lead into halftime. The Blue Raiders held West Virginia Tech to 22.6 percent shooting in the half as they missed seven three-point shots.

The Blue Raiders opened the second half with a 10-0 run to push the lead to 65-21. Lindsey Wilson followed that with a 12-3 run to extend its lead to 77-25 capped off by a Daronte' Clark three-point shot with 12:38 remaining in the game.

Lindsey Wilson led by as many as 61 points in a game that was controlled from start to finish by the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson had 12 players score in the 108-52 victory as the Blue Raiders finished the game 41-of-77 from the field. Lindsey Wilson finished with a season-high 62 rebounds and 15 steals while forcing West Virginia Tech to 26.2 percent shooting from the field and 5-of-23 from beyond the three-point line, three of which came in the final 2:19 of the game.

Jauries Thomas led the Golden Bears with 19 points and nine rebounds while Armond Perez added six points and nine rebounds as West Virginia Tech falls to 8-8 on the season. - Jay R. Nicols, Lindsey Wilson College
