Tonight's meeting is to show up, sign in and comment Hearing - Vo/Tech Satellite Campus, Adair Annex, 424 Public SQ, Columbia, KY By Supt. Alan W. Reed I want to clarify for Ms. Kolbenschlag and others that this is the official public hearing tonight at 6pmCT, at the Adair Annex. We are long past letters of support for the satellite campus at Adair County High School. This evening's hearing is the last time citizens will have the opportunity to show up, sign in and make personal oral comments on the project. The public hearing is part of federal requirements prior to approval of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Becky Bailey and I communicated with the Chamber of Commerce (and many others) just yesterday. I want to personally say thanks for the many letters of support from a varied group of local and regional stakeholders. Students and eventually adult learners will benefit greatly from having the satellite campus of Lake Cumberland Area Technology Center on our campus, offering state and industry certifications in a number of health careers and in welding/metal fabrication. After completion of either of "career tracks" in either of these programs, graduates will be deemed "Career Ready" and be able to qualify for decent jobs offering good pay within a 30-45 minute drive of Columbia. Sincerely, Alan Reed, Superintendent, Adair Co. Schools This story was posted on 2013-12-10 16:18:27
