Two Taylor Countians jailed in alleged shoplifting incident

Columbia Police, working with store security recover over $1,000 in merchandise; pair of 23 year olds face 1 count each of theft by unlawful taking, lodged in Adair County Regional Jail. Investigation continues by Columbia Police Officer Gary Roy.

On December 2, 2013, Columbia Police Department and Walmart Asset Protection Officers arrested two Taylor County women for felony shoplifting. Officers recovered over 1,000 dollars in stolen merchandise. Magan Keith age 23 and Jessica Murphy age 23 both of Taylor county were charged with 1 count each of Theft by Unlawful Taking 0/500 Shoplifting and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by CPD Sgt. Gary Roy and Ofc. Josh Brockman. More charges are expected as investigation continues by Sgt. Roy. - OFC. JOSH BROCKMAN
