Over $800 raised in 2nd Cops for Kids

By Ofc. Josh Brockman, Public Information Officer
Columbia Police Department, Chief, Jason Cross

The Columbia Police Department and the City of Columbia has just wrapped up our second "Cops For Kids" fundraiser with a very successful chili and vegetable soup lunch. Today well over 100 lunches were delivered in Columbia bringing in over 800.00 dollars with the help of donations.

This money will be added to funds raised at Downtown Days where we sponsored a cash drawing. All monies will be used to help families in need ensure that they have a Merry Christmas. Last year was our first year and we were only able to sponsor about 8 families.

This year we will well exceed that. On behalf of the Columbia Police and the City of Columbia we thank everyone for making this a success. A special thanks to Ann Marie Austin who kept things moving swiftly in the kitchen. - Ofc. Josh Brockman
