Christmas Tradition: 9th Annual Tapestry of Music at CU The School of Music and Campbellsville University will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for "Toys for Tots" during the event. Donations will be given to Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS and firefighters for distribution. By Jose Soriana The Ninth Annual Tapestry Concert will be given at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel, 401 N Hoskins Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, at 6pmCT/7pmET, on Friday, December 6, 2013, Admission will be free for everyone. The concert will consist of vocal ensembles, including University Chorale, Concert Chorus (performing an arrangement by Dr. David Hedrick, assistant professor of music), University Chamber Choir, New Doxology, Campbellsville Singers (performing an arrangement by Matt Hodge, instructor in theater and fine arts recruiter), and a Faculty Ensemble. Other instrumental ensembles to perform include: University Orchestra, University Brass Ensemble, University Piano Ensemble, Campbellsville University Tuba Ensemble (CUTE) (performing an arrangement by Stephen Bishop), University Flute Ensemble, Jazz Combo (performing an arrangement by Saulo DeAlmeida, instructor in music), and a Steel Pan Solo (performing an arrangement by Dr. Chad Floyd, assistant professor of music). "This concert, which includes performances by almost all of the School of Music, is considered a 'Gift to the Community,'" Dr. Lisa McArthur, professor of music, said. McArthur said she hopes the concert will be something special for children as well as adults. "We also hope that this concert will help to focus everyone's hearts as we approach the Christmas season and focus on God and the greatest gift of all, His son," she said.
