Big Al Owens: You never know what you might see in Nashville The Predators lost the hockey game, but Big Al and Suzanne score photos with Vince Gill, and they make a debut on the Kiss Cam displayed to the entire arena. Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Big Al Owens Last night Suzanne and I went to see the Nashville Predators play the New York Rangers at Bridgestone Arena. There are 3 periods in a hockey game. In between periods, Nashville has a house band that entertains the crowd until the next period starts. Last night, Suzanne and I were sitting on the end of the rink, where the band is playing. At the end of the 1st period, the band was set up and ready to start jamming, when a fellow wearing a #3 Preds jersey with a guitar case on his back stepped up and asked if he could join them. The fellow was none other than country music legend, Vince Gill. Vince rocked out 3 songs with the band, finishing with Amie, from his early Pure Prairie League days. Vince joined the group again after the 2nd period, and we were sitting just a few seats away from where he was performing so Suzanne was able to take a nice picture with him. The Preds ended up losing the game 2-0, and as we leaving I was able to talk with him a bit. He is a very sincere, and nice individual. It was a great night for us, as Suzanne and I were on the Kiss Cam displayed to the entire arena, and I was able to catch a Preds t-shirt that was thrown into the stands as a souvenir for her too.
