LWC Soccer/Women beat Asbury 6-0 at Walter S. Reuling Blue Raiders advance to National Tournament Final site in Orange Beach, AL By Chris Wells COLUMBIA, KY - Emilia Jonsson scored a pair of goals to lead top-seeded Lindsey Wilson (KY) to a 6-0 win over Asbury (Wilmore, KY) today in the 2013 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. Four other Blue Raiders tallied a goal each as Lindsey Wilson (19-3) advances to the final site of the national tournament at the Orange Beach Sportsplex, 4389 Pub Works Road, Orange Beach, AL The national tournament continues on December 2 and concludes with the national championship match on December 7, 2013.Orange Beach Sportsplex, 4389 Pub Works Road, Orange Beach, AL. Jonsson netted her sixth and seventh goals of the season in the first half to extend Lindsey Wilson's lead to 3-0 a little more than halfway through the opening half. Natasha Gensetter opened the match's scoring in the 12th minute with her 11th goal of the season to give the defending national champions the 1-0 lead. Gensetter fired a shot from the top of the penalty area that glanced off the left post and into the net for the lead. Jonsson scored her first goal of the game in the 24th minute as she took a feed from Gensetter just outside the six-yard box and blasted past Asbury goalkeeper Lizzie Hoffa. Jonsson was at it again in the 35th minute as she dribbled down the right side of the penalty area and scored near post for the 3-0 lead. Lindsey Wilson carried the 3-0 advantage into halftime. The Blue Raiders continued their offensive dominance in the second half with three more goals. Lindsey Wilson ended the match out-shooting the Eagles (11-9) 25-0, including 10-0 in shots on goal. After more than 40 minutes without a goal, Sabrina Tom came off the Lindsey Wilson bench to give the Blue Raiders a 4-0 lead with her second goal of the season. Tom made the most of her only opportunity to score with a goal from just left of the six-yard box off a deflected pass from the right flank. Megan Rauch scored her third goal this season in the 83rd minute and Anna Vig netted her ninth goal of the season in the 87th minute to give the Blue Raiders the 6-0 win. Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Johanna Henrikson picks up the shutout win without facing a shot while Hoffa allowed all six goals while collecting four saves. Lindsey Wilson advances to play Olivet Nazarene (IL) -- who defeated Graceland (IA) 2-1 today -- in the national tournament's second round on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Orange Beach Sportsplex, 4389 Pub Works Road, Orange Beach, AL The game is a rematch of last season's national championship match.
