Collision on KY 49, Liberty, KY takes life of Taylor Co., KY man Driver loses control of 2007 GMC and overturns. Second vehicle rounds curve and strikes overturned GMC on rooftop. Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY LIBERTY, KY - Tpr. Kevin Roberts is investigating a collision that occurred on November 22, 2013 at approximately 6:08amET, 1 mile north of Liberty, KY on KY 49. 41-year-old Charles D. Kirtley, of Campbellsville, KY was operating a 2007 GMC, northbound on KY 49, when he lost control of his vehicle and overturned, coming to rest in the southbound lane. A 1990 Dodge, operated by 42-year-old Andrew Richardson of Bradfordsville, was traveling south on KY 49, rounded the curve and struck the Kirtley vehicle in the rooftop portion as it lay on its side. Kirtley was extricated from his vehicle by Casey County Rescue and pronounced dead at the scene by the Casey County Coroner. Richardson was not injured.
