Columbia driver airlifted to UL after one vehicle crash

Columbia Police Department investigated a one vehicle collision on Burkesville street resulting in Columbia woman being air lifted to University of Louisville, today, Thursday, November 21, 2013.



At 07:25amCT Columbia Police were dispatched to a one vehicle collision in the 500 block of Burkesville street. Preliminary investigation shows that 50 year old Lesa Hagan of Columbia, KY, was travelling south on Burkesville street operating a 2011 Nissan Versa when she lost control of her vehicle, dropped off right shoulder of highway into ditch line.

In an attempt to regain control of vehicle Hagan overcorrected once vehicle was back on roadway and struck the ditch line a second time.

Hagan was treated on scene by Adair county EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital where she was airlifted by Air Evac to University of Louisville Hospital. CPD Sgt. Murphy is continuing the investigation. - Ofc. Joshua Brockman
