Opal L. Roy, 93, of Windsor, KY, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the McCreary County Health & Rehab in Pine Knot, KY.

Funeral service for Opal L. Roy will be 1pmCT, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Mitchell Bunch officiating. Friends may call after 11amCT, Saturday. Burial will be in the Wilkerson Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Billy Roy, Joseph Emerson, Jason Emerson, Brandon Sales, Bradley Sales, and Tim Dixon.

She was born Monday, July 12, 1920 in Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Gloyd & Alice Roberts Meeks. She died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Pine Knot, McCreary County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 8 days.

She was a grocery store owner.

Preceded in death by her husband, Elcie Roy; 2 grandchildren, Pamela Sales, Sherry Sales; 2 brothers, Chester Meeks, Delmer Meeks; and a sister, Gladys Emerson.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four children: Norma Kathy Sales, Redding, Ohio; William (Lynda) Roy, Cincinnati, Ohio; Deanna (Mitchell) Bunch, Whitley City, KY; and Joseph Emerson, Liberty, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Six great grandchildren

  • Sister: Marie Bernard, Jamestown, KY

  • Brother: Argel Meeks, Russell Springs, KY
