KY 88 Fatal Crash: Overcorrection a factor

Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) Region 2, Louisville, KY

KY State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Post 15 Columbia, KY is investigating a fatal accident in Green County on KY highway 88. According to Sr. Officer Derek Cundiff, the accident occurred about 4 miles west of the city of Greensburg at 09:47amCT, on Thursday, November 14, 2013.



An Owens Transport LLC tractor and cargo tank loaded with milk was traveling westbound when the combination vehicle left the roadway, overcorrected and lost control.

The vehicle was being operated by Robert G Kimbler Jr. of Columbia KY. Kimbler was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County Coroner's Office. KSP was assisted by Greensburg Fire Dept and the EPA. Direct cause of the accident is still unknown at this time and the investigation is on going. - Jared Newberry
