Governor Beshear Congratulates Ford on announcement

2015 Lincoln MKC to be produced in Louisville, Ky

From Kerri Richardson & Terry Sebastian

FRANKFORT KY - Statement of Gov. Steve Beshear on Ford announcement of new production at the Louisville Assembly Plant:

"Quality and luxury have become synonymous with Kentucky's reputation as a leading automotive manufacturing state. That reputation has been further solidified today with the decision by Lincoln Motor Company, the luxury automotive brand of Ford Motor Company, to produce its all-new 2015 Lincoln MKC premium utility vehicle at the Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP).

"The recent retooling of Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant made it one of Ford's most flexible, high-volume plants in the world. It now has the capability to quickly shift production to accommodate multiple vehicle models and efficiently meet global demand.

"The decision to produce the Lincoln MKC at LAP is not only reflective of the plant's new capabilities, but also of the ability of our skilled and talented workforce to manufacture the kind of high-quality products that customers have come to know and love.

"We appreciate Ford's continued confidence in the Commonwealth and look forward to producing the Lincoln MKC beginning next year."
