Campbellsville Police report counterfeit bills being circulated

$10 bill altered to look like a $100 bill on currency received at business in Green River Plaza Shopping Center

From Campbellsville 911

The Campbellsville Police Department wants to make all businesses in the area aware that counterfeit bills are being circulated.

On Tuesday, November 12, 2013 a local business in the Green River Plaza Shopping Center received a counterfeit $100 bill.

The serial number on the $100 bill recovered is, KK03498527C.

When the bill is checked with a currency pen, it shows that the bill is good; however the bill recovered was previously a $10 bill which was made to look as $100 bill.

When the bill is held to the light, the water mark is the face of Andrew Jackson instead of Benjamin Franklin and the security strip says that it is a $10 bill as well.

Any business which suspects counterfeit currency please call the Campbellsville Police Department at, 270-465-4121 or 270-465-4122.
