Opinion: Food stamps need WIC-like restrictions Jarrett Miller writes: The real problem with food stamps is that they are not used efficiently. Having seen the people in line at the store, there carts are full of potato chips, french fries, chicken nuggets, pop tarts, etc. On top of that it is almost always name brand. If they would buy generic, stick to meat, bread, potatoes, fruits and vegitables, their dollars would go twice as far. There needs to be stricter limits on what you can buy, like there is for WIC. --Jarrett MillerComments re article 63178 Jacky D Pyles comments on Food Stamp cutback This story was posted on 2013-11-10 02:16:19
