Two LWC Wrestlers finish 8th at Michigan State University open Mitchell Judkins and Keaton Thomas place eighth in respective weight classes By Charles Balcom East Lansing, MI - Two Lindsey Wilson College wrestlers finished in eighth place at the NCAA Division I Michigan State University Open on Saturday, just missing the medals matches. Mitchell Judkins fell in his opening match to Bradley Metz of the University of Findlay (Ohio) by a 4-1 decision. Judkins went on to win his next three matches before taking a medical forfeit to finish the day in eighth place of the double-elimination tournament. Keaton Thomas won his opening match of the freshman/sophomore division 141 weight class, but fell to Matt Leshinger of Columbia University (NY) in a 7-5 decision in the next round. Thomas went on to win his next three matches before taking an injury default to finish in eighth place. Joe Cozart fell in the opening round on a 5-4 decision to Doug Welch of Purdue University in the 157 weight class. Cozart won his next three matches before falling to Johhny Greisheimer of Edinboro University (PA) who finished in 6th in the weight class. Stephen Myers started his day out with a 13-5 win over Mason Cleaver of Northern Illinois University but fell in his next two matches at the 149 freshman/sophomore division. Jameel Bryant fell in a tough match 12-11 to Shane Rosenberry of Northern Illinois and lost his next match to Justin Holm of Olivet at the Open Division 141 weight class. Cadyn McKeeth suffered a 4-3 loss in his first match to Tyler Hardtke of Notre Dame (Ohio).
