Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY By Jay Nicol News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - No. 2 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer at 8pmCT/9pmET Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (13-2-2, 8-0-1 MSC) took home the regular season title and will begin defense of its 2012 MSC tournament title on Saturday against the Bears in Columbia, Ky. Lindsey Wilson won the regular season match 2-1 in Porstmouth, Ohio behind goals from Aleksi Pahkasalo and Yazeed Davids. Christoffer Gatara made one save while allowing one goal. Lindsey Wilson went 9-1, 7-0 in the MSC down the stretch to secure the top seed in the tournament after holding strong against University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on September 21 in a 1-1 double-overtime draw in Columbia. Blue Raiders Xavier Baumgart and Davids lead the Blue Raiders with 24 points apiece. Baumgart is the leading goal scorer for the Blue Raiders with 10 goals on the season while Davids leads the team with eight assists. Shawnee State went 4-3-1 in their final eight games losing to St. Catharine in their final regular season game 1-0. Joseph Webster leads the team with 12 goals while Martyn Sayer made six assists during the regular season. Thomas Carbonari started 15 games in goal and went 6-8-1 with shutouts. In other quarterfinal action in the MSC Tournament, University of Rio Grande (Rio Grande) hosted Bluefield (VA) College on Thursday winning 5-0. Rio Grande faces the winner of Campbellsville (KY) University and Georgetown (KY) College. University of the Cumberlands (KY) hosts Cumberland (TN) University. All remaining games will be played on Saturday, November 9. The winners will meet in Columbia, KY at Lindsey Wilson College's Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY on Thursday, November 14 at 6pmCT and 8:30pmCT. The Championship game is Friday, November 15, 2013 at 8:30pmCT.
