Filing slow 2nd Day: At 10:44amCT, only one new candidate

Filing for public office in Adair County has been slow this morning. One additional candidate had filed as of 10:44amCT this morning, Thursday, November 7, 2013

  • Daryl Flatt, for Republican nomination for Magistrate, District 2. (Incumbent)
So far, four of the seven sitting magistrates, Billy Rowe (7), Perry Reeder (4), and Harold Burton (1), and Flatt, have filed.

Incumbents who have not filed are Sammy Baker (3), Billy Dean Coffey (5), and Joe Rogers (6).

Competitive races are assured in District 1, where Danny Goodin is seeking to reclaim his seat, won by Harold Burton after Goodin made an unsuccessful run for the office of County Judge Executive.

And, if Magistrate Joe Rogers does file for reelection, a Democratic primary will be for the District Six seat.

Daryl Flatt is the 16th candidate to file for the 2014 Elections.
