Four Car collisions 4 miles east of Columbia, KY result in injuries

Mother, five-year old injured and transported to WRH. Six other occupants among the four vehicles not injured. Traffic was stopped and rerouted untill accident could be cleared. The Adair Sheriff's Office responded to a four vehicle collision Friday November 1, on Russell Road Highway 80 about four miles from Columbia, KY.

Jennifer Thompson 32, of Columbia was stopped behind another vehicle about to turn in her silver 2012 Scion when she was struck in the rear by Patricia Moore 40, of Russell Springs, KY, in her 2004 red Pontiac.



Moore was also struck from the rear by Dilbert Caldwell 48, of Columbia in his 2004 maroon Toyota van. Caldwell was then subsequently rear ended by Melinda Rhodes 43, of Columbia in her 2013 silver Nissan Rogue.

Rhodes and her five year old daughter were transported to Westlake Regional Hospital via EMS for injuries. All other drivers and a total of 6 other passengers among the four vehicles were not injured.

Traffic was stopped and rerouted until the accident could be cleared. Columbia City Police and Kentucky State Police also responded and assisted. - Deputy Adam Cravens
