By Debbie Selby,

Treats On The Town was held at the Jim Blair Community Center last night due to inclement weather. I must say it was a HUGE success.

Approximately 1,400 bags of cotton candy were given away so adding parents/friends, we estimate that around 2,000 people came thru for candy and fellowship.

I would like to thank all businesses/individuals who participated. Without you, this would not be possible. The Jaycees are to be commended for a job well done. Cotton candy is the highlight of the night.

Jaycees had 1,000 bags of candy to start the evening

They worked the night prior and had 1,000 bags ready when they arrived. They are definitely dedicated to assuring the children of our county have a good, safe Halloween. If you patronize any of the following businesses, please say thank you for being so interested in our youth and thank them for their participation in Treats On The Town.

Those businesses/individuals are: Sheriff Harrison Moss, The Adair Heritage Association, Adair County Public Library, First and Farmers Bank, Attorney Jennifer Hutchison, Community Trust Bank, Central Finance, Bearwallow United Methodist Church, Bluegrass Cellular, Victory Community Church, Junior & Donna Feese with the PVA Office, Best Financial, Cecil Pearson, United Citizens Bank, Danny & Veronica Mouser at Mouser Realty, Columbia Christian Church, Columbia Baptist Church, Staff Management, Ralphies Fun Center, Love Nails, Judge Ann Melton and the Lindsey Wilson College Students. Again, a big thank you for this success. We are so blessed to live in a community that is so caring and generous. --Debbie Selby
