LWC Soccer/Women at Martin Methodist, Tues. Oct. 29, 2013

COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team heads to Pulaski, TN. to take on No. 12 Martin Methodist College on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 7pmCT/8 pm ET at the East Campus Athletic Facility, 1238 East College Street, Pulaski, TN.



The Blue Raiders (13-3, 7-1) come off an 8-0 win over Mid-South Conference opponent Georgetown (KY) College, Lindsey Wilson's only match last week.

Ayaki Shinada leads Lindsey Wilson in goals (13), assists (16), shots (43) and shots on goal (27). Renee Hurd, the MSC Offensive Player of the Week, is not far behind with nine goals. In 12 appearances, keeper Johanna Henrikson has 18 saves with ten goals allowed for a 1.02 goals-against average and two shutouts.

The Blue Raiders are second in the nation in total goals (77) and goals per game (4.81).

The RedHawks (11-3-1) earned a 7-0 victory against Brewton Parker (GA) College last Friday, but fell 4-0 to Brenau (GA) University on Saturday.

Taylor Samsel leads the Martin Methodist attack with ten goals, Jennifer Loewen has nine and Lauren Badalamente has eight. Goalkeeper Aisling Dyer has 32 saves in 12 games, allowing nine goals for a 0.93 goals-against average with one shutout.

The RedHawks rank fourth in the nation in shutouts per game (0.6) and fifth in total shutouts (9).

Martin Methodist leads the overall series 6-5-2. Last season, the RedHawks scored in double overtime for a 1-0 decision, snapping a ten-game winning streak for the Blue Raiders. - Pierce Yarberry, Lindsey Wilson College
