He was a native of Cane Valley, Adair County, KY, a member of a highly respected, old line Adair County families. He was the son of late Robert Clark and Mattie Ann Bault Smith. His wife, Barbara Joyce Smith, and five children survive.

Benjamin H. Smith age 77 of Cane Valley, KY, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Lexington, KY.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY



Benjamin H. Smith, Cane Valley, KY (1936-2013)

He was born in Cane Valley, KY on July 6, 1936. He was the son of the late Robert Clark and Mattie Ann Bault Smith. He died Saturday, October 26, 2013, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 20 days.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Joyce Moore Smith, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Carol Ann (Michael) Summers, Sandra Lee (Terry Hopkins) Smith, and Donna Jean Smith, all of Lexington, KY

  • Two sons: Benjamin H. (Sharon) Smith Jr., of McDonald, PA, and David H. (Phyllis Sargeant) Smith, of Lexington, KY
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Donations in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Green River Animal Shelter and may be left at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
