Marie Noel Thomas, Casey County, KY (1931-2013)

Marie was devoted to her family , she was a member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple and attended the Grace Baptist Church. She love quilting, gardening, working in her flowers and watching birds. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of Greenwood, IN. Her marriage to her beloved husband, Glenn Thomas, who survives, endured over 63 years. She leaves 19 direct living descendants

Marie Noel Thomas of Greenwood, Indiana and Casey County, KY passed away Friday October 25, 2013 at her home in Casey County. She was 81.

Funeral services are 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Monday October 28, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Pastor Cody Sturgill and Pastor Brandon Wilson officiating. Burial is at Noels Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 5pm-7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers are Alan Thomas, Harold Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Joe Thomas, Josh Wright, Jeremiah Wright, Dalton Anderson and Todd Harne.

Born Tuesday, November 10, 1931 in Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Felbert Ray and Pearl Gabehart Noel. She died Friday, October 25, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 15 days.

Marie was devoted to her family , she was a member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple and attended the Grace Baptist Church.

She love quilting, gardening, working in her flowers and watching birds.

Survivors include her beloved husband , Glenn Thomas, whom she wed July 25, 1950 and the following:
  • Two sons: Alan Thomas of Greenwood, IN; and Harold (and Pam) Thomas of Indianapolis, IN

  • Six grandchildren

  • Eleven great-grandchildren

  • Five brothers, Earl, Ed, and Bennie Noel all of Liberty, KY; Walter Noel of Louisville, KY; and Henry Noel of Columbia, KY

  • And two sisters: Martha Murphy of Liberty, KY; and Ruth Murphy of Versailles, KY
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Wright; two brothers, Charles and Samuel Noel; and four sisters, Mabel Shultz, Mary Dean, Nellie Land and Mayme Noel.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
