Steve Curry, 61, Adair County, KY (1952-2013)

He was a US Army Veteran, a well-known and respected mechanic and attended New Beginnings Church. He was a native of Adair County, KY and a resident at the time of his death. He was a member of a large, highly regarded Adair County, KY family, the son of the late Leonard Earl Curry and Dorothy Mae Taylor Curry, who survives, as does his wife, Wilma Stapleton Curry. He leaves 24 direct and five step living descendants. He will be accorded full military honors at interment by VFW Post 6097.

Steve Curry, 61, of Columbia, KY, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 12:55amET, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Tony Streeval officiating. Burial will be in Free Union Cemetery, 4642 Sano Road, Columbia, KY, with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be after 5pmCT/6pmET, Saturday, October 26, 2013.



Steve Curry, Adair County, KY (1952-2013)


He was born, Monday, August 11, 1952, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Leonard Earl Curry and Dorothy Mae Taylor Curry. who survives, of Russell Springs, KY. He died Thursday, October 24, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 61 years, 2 months, an 13 days.

He was a US Army Veteran, a well-known and respected mechanic and attended New Beginnings Church.

In addition to his mother, survivors include:
  • His wife: Wilma Stapleton Curry of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Leonard Steven Curry, Jr., of Ohio & Nathan Lee Curry of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Glynda (Jackie) Compton & Carol Kitts all of Columbia, KY

  • One step-son: Richie Bernard of Columbia, KY

  • Four step-daughters: Jamie Biggerstaff of Tennessee, Jackie Phillips, Melinda & Cassy Stapleton all of Columbia, KY

  • Seven brothers: Donnie, Randy, Dale, Gary, Jerry & Larry Curry all of Columbia, Mike Curry of Russell Springs, KY

  • Four sisters: Carolyn Tucker of Knifley, KY; Connie Harmon of Russell Springs, KY; and Pamela Dial and Ruth Ann Streeval, both of Columbia, KY

  • Nineteen grandchildren

  • One great-grandchild

  • Along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends
