She was a native of Russell County, KY and was a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Oscar & Lola Coffey Wells, and the widow of Olie Kerr. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beckham Ridge Separate Baptist Church.

Juanita Kerr, 85, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, Ocotber 20, 2013 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY. She was born December 4, 1927 in Russell County to the late Oscar & Lola Coffey Wells.

Funeral Service for Juanita Kerr will be 10amCT, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Garnett Hammond and Bro. Preston Richardson officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Monday, October 21, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Travis Dixon, Cody Kerr, Chandler Staten, Jeron Wall, Wesley Staten, and Preston Richardson.

Juanita Kerr, was born Sunday, December 4, 1927 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Oscar & Lola Coffey Wells. She died Sunday, October 20, 2013, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Beckham Ridge Separate Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Olie Kerr and a son, Bobby Dixon.

Survivors include the following:
  • Seven children: Lenora Hayes, Dinah Kerr, Ruth Hoover, Angelo Dixon, Marlin Dixon, Jeff Kerr, all of Russell Springs, KY; and Royce Dixon, Windsor, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • A host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great great grandchildren

  • Seven step children: Maxine Burton, Bonnie Stephens, Carlie Kerr, Bobby Kerr, all of Russell Springs, KY; Doris Cook, Columbia, KY; Charles Kerr, Louisville, KY; Otis "Toonie" Kerr, Indiana
