No. 11 Lindsey Wilson Volleyball heads to Ohio for two games Blue Raiders take on Rio Grande Saturday, Shawnee State Sunday By Charles Balcolm COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team takes on Mid-South opponents University of Rio Grande (Rio Grande, Ohio) and Shawnee State University (Portsmouth, Ohio) this weekend. Lindsey Wilson Volleyball at Rio Grande is at 10amCT Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Newt Oliver Arena, 218 North College Avenue, Rio Grande, OH. Sunday, October 20, 2013, Lindsey Wilson Volleyball vs. Shawnee State is set for 1pmCT at the Frank & Janis Waller Gymnasium, 940 Second Street, Portsmouth, OH. The Blue Raiders travel to Portsmouth, Ohio to take on Shawnee State on Sunday at 1pmCT. Lindsey Wilson (24-1, 12-0) enters the weekend coming off a 3-1 victory over Campbellsville (Ky.) University Tuesday night. The Blue Raiders' balanced offensive attack is led by Nadelina Nesheva with 235 kills. Junior Taylor Hayne sits just behind her with 231 kills followed by senior Kailey Moorhead with 221 and junior Sarah Anderson with 202. Freshman Alexa Just leads the team and the Mid-South Conference in assists with 789. The defensive effort is also a balanced one with five Blue Raiders recording at least 40 blocks on the season. Moorhead leads the team with 82 followed by sophomore Mattie Tigges with 77. Rio Grande (10-13, 4-9) enters Saturday's match coming off a 3-0 sweep over Bluefield College on Thursday night. The Red Storm is led by Betsy Schramm with 223 kills on the season followed by Autumn Snider with 187. Nicole Ogg leads the team in digs with 292 followed by Chandler Brown with 226. Shawnee State (13-11, 6-6) enters Sunday's 1 p.m. CT matchup playing in their fourth match in four days. The Bears will travel to Bluefield (Va.) College Saturday before returning home to host the Blue Raiders on Sunday. The Bears are led by Paige Zelich with 232 kills on the season. Hannah Gephart leads the team with 458 assists. The defensive effort for Shawnee State is a balanced one with four Bears with at least 200 digs on the year. Carly Mazza leads that group with 375. The Blue Raiders swept both the Red Storm and Bears earlier this season in Columbia. Saturday's match against Rio Grande is set for 10amCT at the Newt Oliver Arena, 218 North College Ave., Rio Grande, OH.
