Former Russell CJE, Terril Flanagan, Jamestown, KY (1935-2013)

He was Russell County Judge Executive for 16 years, a barber, a Russell Spriongs City Councilman, a Master Commisioner, and a Veteran of the US Navy. He was the son of the late William & Ermine Flanagan. His wife, Rachel Elizabeth Flanagan, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Terril Flanagan, 78. of Jamestown, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

Funeral service for Terril Flanagan will be 3pmCT, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bodie Emerson and Hon. H. K. Cooper officiating. Friends may call after 9amCT, Thursday, October 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be in in the Flanagan Cemetery in Russell County, KY.



Pallbearers: Aaron Flanagan, Jeron Dunbar, Chad Aaron, Jackie Aaron, and Josh Wiles.

He was born Thursday, July 18, 1935 in Russell County, KY. he was the son of the late William & Ermine Flanagan. He died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 28 days.

He was Russell County Judge Executive for 16 years, a barber, a Russell Spriongs City Councilman, a Master Commisioner, and a Veteran of the US Navy.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Terril Keith Flanagan, Victor Keith Flanagan and a brother, Paul Flanagan.

Survivors include the following:
  • His wife: Rachel Elizabeth Flanagan, Jamestown, KY

  • Four children: Aaron Keith Flanagan (Carly), Russell Springs, KY; Jessica Wiles, Jamestown, KY; Jenny Oakes (Dustin), Russell Springs, KY; and Justus Ramsey, Jamestown, KY

  • Sister: Maxine Hausfield, Dayton Ohio

  • Three grandsons: Josh, Justin, and Kobi

  • Five great grandchildren: Anaston, Alyssa, Kamree, Allie, and Colton

  • Special friend: Michael Ford, Russell Springs, KY
