LWC Volleyball downs CU 3-1 Tuesday night Victory marks Coach Andy Cavins' first career home win over Campbellsville Next: Lindsey Wilson Volleyball at Rio Grande, Ohio on October 19, 2013 for a 10 am CT/11 am ET match against the RedStorm at Newt Oliver Arena, 218 North College Avenue, Rio Grande, Ohio By Pierce Yarberry News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over visiting Mid-South Conference opponent Campbellsville (KY) Tuesday night, October 15, 2013, at Biggers Sports Center. Nadelina Nesheva led the Blue Raiders (24-1, 12-0) with 16 kills, while Taylor Hayne added 13 of her own. Maeghan Angel tallied 15 digs and Alexa Just contributed 38 assists. Campbellsville (15-5, 9-3) opened the first set with an early 5-3 lead, but both teams traded points for most of the set until Nesheva got the decisive kill to take the set 25-23. Lindsey Wilson went on several 3-0 runs and a 4-0 run to take the second set 25-17. The Blue Raiders led by as many as seven points. The Tigers jumped out front in set three before Lindsey Wilson tied it at three. The Blue Raiders held a slim lead until Campbellsville tied the set at ten. The Tigers would hold a slight lead the rest of the set until Lindsey Wilson was able to tie it at 23, but Campbellsville closed out the set with the next two points. The Blue Raiders and Tigers opened the fourth set exchanging leads until the score was 10-9 in favor of Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders proceeded to go on a 6-0 run to increase its lead to 16-9. The Tigers were able to close the lead to within three before the Blue Raiders went on a 4-0 run to close out the set. Hayne and Kailey Moorhead got two crucial blocks in the last set, including the match-winning point. The Tigers were paced by Kelly Moyer with 13 kills. Jackie Schwieger added 33 assists on the night. The victory marks coach Andy Cavins' first career home win over Campbellsville.
