Holmes Bend, Pikes Ridge, Smith Ridge campgrounds closed Shutdowns a result of Federal Government shutdown By Patricia G. Hull U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Green River Area GREEN RIVER AREA, BEE SPRING, KY. - Due to the federal government shutdown the following campgrounds operated by the Corps of Engineers at Rough, Nolin, Barren, and Green River Lakes have been closed for the remainder of the season. Each lakes boat ramp information is also printed below. Green River Lake: Holmes Bend, Pikes Ridge and Smith Ridge campgrounds are closed for the season. Holmes Bend boat ramp is open but the restroom facility is closed. Smith Ridge, Site One, Tailwater and Pikes Ridge boat ramps are closed. Green River State Park facilities are open. Barren River Lake: Bailey's Point Campground is closed for the season. Tailwater, The Narrows, and Beaver Creek Campgrounds were closed September 22nd. Port Oliver, Peninsula, Beaver Creek, The Narrows, and Browns Ford boat ramps and restroom facilities are open. Bailey's Point and Tailwater boat ramps are closed. Barren River State Park facilities are open. Rough River Lake: Axtel, Laurel Branch, and Cave Creek Campgrounds are closed for the season. North Fork Campground was closed September 9th. North Fork, Axtel, and Laurel Branch boat ramps remain open but the restroom facilities are closed. Tailwater Recreation Area, Cave Creek Recreation Area, and North Fork Day Use Area are closed. Rough River State Park facilities are open. Nolin River Lake: Moutardier Campground is closed for the season. Wax and Dog Creek Campgrounds were closed September 22nd. Moutardier and Wax boat ramps remain open but the restroom facilities are closed. Iberia, Dog Creek, Van Meter and the Tailwater boat ramps are closed. Nolin State Park facilities are open. Customers with reservations will receive a full refund. To check on the status of your cancelation and refund please contact the reservation customer service at 1-888-448-1474 (TDD 1-877-833-6777). For lake information and to keep up with what is happening at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rough River Lake 270-257-2061; Nolin River Lake 270-286-4511; Barren River Lake 270-270-646-2055; and Green River Lake 270-465-4463.
