Roxie Peavey, of Liberty, KY passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at her residence, at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 8 days.

Funeral Services will be held 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Thursday October 17, 2013 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY. Rev. Matt Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Peavey Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5pmCT/6pmET, Wednesday October 16, 2013 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on February 5, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Kelsie & Myrtie Lee Allen Atwood. She died Sunday, October 13, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 8 days.

She was a Housewife and a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.

She was the widow of Estill L. Peavey.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons: Donald Peavey of Junction City, KY; Larry Peavey of Liberty, KY; and Jerry Peavey of Chillicothe, OH

  • One daughter: Lydia Lewis of Liberty, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Seven great-grandchildren

  • One brother: Dewey Atwood of Russell Springs, KY

  • And two sisters: Eveleen Miller of Cincinnati, OH and Patricia Carol Emerson of Liberty, KY
