She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Willie Thrasher and Ellie Flowers Thrasher and the widow of Grant Wray. She was a member of Rose of Sharon United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Mrs. Lowell Wray age 87 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Cumberland County Hospital.

Funeral services Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Jimmy Powell officiating. Burial in Rose of Sharon Cemetery, Cumberland County, KY.


Mrs. Lowell Wray, 87, Burkesville, KY (1925-2013)

She was born on Tuesday, October 13, 1925 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Willie Thrasher and Ellie Flowers Thrasher. She died Friday, October 11, 2013, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 29 days.

She was a member of Rose of Sharon United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Wray, three sisters, Tessie Watkins, Bercie Flowers, and Joyce Thrasher, and one brother, Herbert Thrasher. Survivors include:
  • Four brothers: Cloyd Thrasher, Lewis Thrasher and his wife Diana, Jesse Thrasher and his wife Becky, and Matthew Thrasher and his wife Anna Mae all of Louisville, KY

  • Six sisters: Lucille Akin of Glasgow, KY; Geneva Thacker and Nelda Garner both of Burkesville, KY; Olene Richardson, Marie Perkins and her husband James, and Anna Wolff and her husband Garry all of Louisville, KY

  • Special niece and nephew: Barbara and Bobby Wray of Burkesville, KY

  • And several other nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own

  • And loving cousins
