Jon Halsey: Nationality should not enter into question

On immigration

Jon Halsey writes:
Which nationalities would Columbia welcome?

Hopefully nationality does NOT even enter into the discussion as long as immigrants are here legally, share our language and value our cultural history. I think the reception experienced by foreign students at Lindsey Wilson bear that out.

It they aspire to the benefits of U.S. citizenship then they should be of "good moral character, be able to pass the citizenship test, speak and understand English and understand and share American values. The absence of these qualities, especially the legality issue is what is at the heart of the current "Immigration controversy" and has nothing to do with nationality or legal immigration. - Jon Halsey
