LWC Soccer Men retains No. 1 ranking in NAIA Coaches' Top 25

Campbellsville also a Top 25, at No. 23. Tigers have lost only one match, to Lindsey Wilson, 1-0.

KANSAS CITY, MO - Lindsey Wilson men's soccer remained the No. 1 team in the latest NAIA Men's Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday, October 8, 2013.

The Blue Raiders (8-1-2) received 18 first-place votes and 589 points as it sits atop the poll for the second straight week. Lindsey Wilson went 2-0 last week outscoring their opponents 17-1.



Belhaven (MS) jumped one spot to No. 2 with three first-place votes and 566 points while Rio Grande (OH) slipped to No. 3 after receiving 548 points in the latest coaches' top-25 poll.

Rounding out the top-25 are Oklahoma Wesleyan and Ashford (Iowa) who stayed at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

Hastings (Neb.) continued to fall as they are now ranked No. 13 after dropping seven spots. Texas at Brownsville vaulted into the top-10 with 472 votes and a 10-1-0 record to sit at No. 6 in this week's poll.

Three teams dropped from the top-25 - Mobile (AL), Indiana Wesleyan and Concordia (OR).

The Mid-South Conference has three teams in the coaches' top-25 poll with the addition of Campbellsville (KY) at No. 23 who received 131 points. The Tigers are 10-1-1 with its only loss coming against No. 1 Lindsey Wilson 1-0. - Jay R. Nicols
