The VanArsdales Story: RMH provided home away from home 'I thank God every day for Heather. She's our miracle; but you all have a part in her recovery and others when you donate to the Ronald McDonald House. God Bless you all!" - Beth VanArsdale Reminder: 6th Annual Ronald McDonald Wish List Drive 3pm-6pmCT, Thursday, Otober 24, 2013 (Wish List) Lower Level, Chamber Building, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY. By Beth VanArsdale Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you, Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. The annual Ronald McDonald House Drive is Thursday October 24th. This fundraiser is close to my heart. On October 29, 2012 our daughter Heather VanArsdale was in a serious auto accident. We were told that she would not make it that she had a severed brain stem, and DAI (shaken baby syndrome). She was in a coma for 45 days. She was transported from UofL to Cardinal Hill in Lexington still in a coma. Cardinal Hill brought her out of her coma, she was inpatient from November 29th to March 1st. We were asked to be in an outpatient program at Cardinal Hill where Heather would receive 3 full days of extensive therapy. In order to do this we would have to live in Lexington. The Ronald McDonald House provided us with a home away from home. They supply families with a place to stay at an affordable cost and with all the necessities you need, such as food, tooth paste, soap etc. We could focus on Heather's recovery and not worry about hotel expenses. Everyone at the house makes you feel welcome. They have become part of our family.MB They help a lot of our local families and we appreciate being a part of their family. Your donation will go toward a great cause. I thank God every day for Heather. She's our miracle; but you all have a part in her recovery and others when you donate to the Ronald McDonald House. God Bless you all! - Beth VanArsdale This story was posted on 2013-10-08 11:08:45
