LWC Football drops to No. 17 in latest NAIA Top-25 Poll Blue Raiders suffered first loss of the season Saturday By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson football team fell three spots in this week's NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, officials announced Monday, October 7, 2013. The move from No. 14 to No. 17 comes after the Blue Raiders lost to No. 2 University of the Cumberlands (KY) 52-45 on Saturday, October, 5, 2013. The Blue Raiders fall to 5-1 on the season and 1-1 in the Mid-South Conference East Division. Lindsey Wilson received 120 voting points from the panel of head coaches that makes up the national raters. The Blue Raiders are tied at No. 17 with Friends (KS) University. Cumberlands, Georgetown (KY) College and Faulkner (Ala.) University also reside in the poll. Cumberlands remains at No. 2 while Georgetown drops to No. 12 and Faulkner moves into the top 25 at No. 23 following a Faulkner win over then-No. 5 Georgetown. Campbellsville University sits just outside the top 25 receiving votes. Morningside (Iowa) remains atop the national poll with 314 voting points, including all 14 first-place votes. Cumberlands is No. 2 with 299 voting points followed by Grand View (Iowa) with 292 voting points. The next NAIA poll is scheduled to be released Monday, Oct. 14.
