Lindsey Wilson Womens Soccer defeats Cumberlands 14-0

COLUMBIA, KY - Ayaki Shinada finished with four goals while Anna Vig added three as the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team defeated the University of the Cumberlands (KY) 14-0 Saturday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.



It took little time for Lindsey Wilson (10-2, 5-0) to get on the scoreboard with Natasha Gensetter netting the first goal for the Blue Raiders just over a minute into the game. Gensetter took a rebound from a corner kick and fired it past the Cumberlands keeper to give Lindsey Wilson the 1-0 lead.

Emilia Jonsson scored next for the Blue Raiders in the 8th minute off an assist from Shinada.

Shinada scored a goal of her own in the 23rd minute on an assist from Jamie Stanton.

The Blue Raiders scored four goals over the next ten minutes to push the lead to 7-0. It started with Gensetter in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal. Shinada scored her second of the night in the 30th minute. Anna Vig scored her first goal of the night in the 35th minute, and her second in the 37th.

Alice Coyne added a goal just before halftime in the 45th minute to make the lead 8-0.

The scoring continued in the second half as Anna Vig netted her second hat-trick in as many games with her third goal in the 48th minute.

Shinada collected a hat-trick of her own in the 59th minute off an assist from Sabrina Tom. Shinada added her fourth and final goal in the 62nd minute.

Shinada's four assists ties a single-game program record. Gensetter also accomplished this feat last season for the Blue Raiders.

Gloria Hensley scored her first goal of the season in the 66th minute on a header from a corner kick that the defense failed to clear.

Megan Rauch netted her second goal of the season in the 70th minute to push the lead to 13-0.

Johanna Henrikson finished the scoring for the Blue Raiders on a last second goal in the 90th minute.

Lina Jepsen and Loren Cerafice combined for the shutout win. Cerafice made the only save on the night for the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson held the advantage in shots 33-3 and corner kicks 9-3.

The Blue Raiders have combined for 35 goals over their previous three games.

Cumberlands falls to 1-9 and 1-4 in Mid-South Conference play.
