No. 1 LWC Men's Soccer defeats Cumberlands 7-1 By Pierce Yarberry COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 1 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team earned a 7-1 decision over visiting Cumberlands (KY) in Mid-South Conference action Friday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. Tom Moody put the Blue Raiders (8-1-2, 4-0-1) on the board in the fifth minute when he capitalized on a penalty kick. Xavier Baumgart added a goal in the 18th minute when he chipped the ball over a diving keeper and then finished his shot. Yazeed Davids would add a goal in the 23rd minute, also off a penalty kick, to put Lindsey Wilson up 3-0 at the half. The Blue Raiders pulled ahead to a 6-0 lead in the second period thanks to goals from Moody, Baumgart and Renan Sarafim. Cumberlands (4-4-1, 4-1-0) would get on the board in the 66th minute when Pedro Antonelli got in front of the defense inside of the box and beat the keeper. Trae Wells scored in the 84th minute for the final goal. Keeper Christoffer Gatara had three saves in the win.
