Kelly Murphy, age 82, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday October 2, 2013, at his residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12pmCT/1pmET, Monday October 7, 2013 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY. Bro. Marshall Malone and Bro. Simon Kidd officiating. Visitation will be held 11amCT/12pm noon ET, Monday October 7, 2013 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.



Kelly Murphy, Casey County, KY, (1931-2013)


He was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on Sunday, August 2, 1931. He was the son of the late Preston and Ada Mae Games Murphy. He died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 82 years, 2 months.

He was a retired custom cabinet maker, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Carr's Chapel Church of God.

He was the widower of Nellie Mae Bryant Murphy.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Joel Murphy of Versailles and Gregory Murphy of Pulaski, TN

  • One daughter: Donna Cheatham of Salvisa, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Eight great-grandchildren

  • One brother: Lyndon Murphy of Liberty, KY

  • And three sisters: Locia Pingleton and Wilma Cox both of Liberty, KY; and Lola Lauing of Pasadena, CA
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Leonard and Gregory Murphy and one sister: Dorsey Jane Murphy. Send a condolence to the family of Kelly Murphy
